| DESCRIPTION: | Description: Sam Abell's 30 year career has been dedicated to achieving artistic expression through documentary photography. He has produced in-depth coverage of remote regions of the world for National Geographic Magazine and its Book Division as well as maintained a career as an artist, teacher, and author. He has applied himself, in particular, to the photography of cultural landscape. He explores ways in which places can be purely recorded, with images simultaneously shaped by the photographer's imagination. As photographer and author, Sam will talk about his books, the almost mystical Life of a Photograph and the complex, thoughtful and inspiring Photographic Life. |
